A New Face at the Hugoton Learning Academy
New "ESL" Paraprofessional

On September 21, 2011, the Learning Academy acquired a new assistant for its students. When former HLA assistant, Sonia Delgado was transferred to the High School to assist the Migrant, At Risk, and ESL population full time, USD #210 hired Edith Jimenez to replace her.
Edith is a former HHS graduation, who had been attending Washburn University. For personal reasons, she decided to sit out a year from college, which became our gain. She was hired to assist the growing population of students at the HLA.
She has been a nice addition to our staff and our students have taken to her readily. She is involved in assisting with Adult ESL morning classes and answering questions the traditional-aged students have on their e2020 classes.
