Principal's Welcome Letter...

Welcome HLA Students:
I want to take this time to introduce myself and welcome you to the 2011-2012 school year. I am Dennis Gonzales the HLA Director and very excited about the upcoming year. This year we are proud to offer more teacher assisted classes using e2020 our streamlined curriculum. The e2020 curriculum along with teacher interaction will be used to enhance every students learning challenges regardless of their learning styles. In the past, many schools use a cookie cutter approach to student learning, however, with our e2020 curriculum we can customize a student’s needs without watering down the most important part of education and that is learning. It will prepare students for employment opportunities and any other educational goals a student may wish to achieve.
We will utilize teacher led courses and many other elective classes that the HLA did not have in the past. I believe a student needs to have a well-rounded educational opportunity provided through online learning, classroom experience, and visiting industry to enhance their learning opportunities. Our school’s theme focuses on “Employability Skills” and these skills are essential for gaining and maintaining employment for future career goals that are not taught in a traditional school setting.
My hope this year is to increase student enrollment, attendance, and graduates. I feel that our E2020 curriculum along with our talented team of educational professionals will assist each student to achieve academic excellence. Again, welcome to the HLA and please do not hesitate to call upon me or any other HLA staff member if you need assistance.
