Adult Classes at the Hugoton Learning Academy A Success

For the second year, the Hugoton Learning Academy is offering adults the opportunity to receive their high school diploma. Currently 41 adults are actively attending classes to obtain this goal. Twenty-one students attend during the day and twenty students attend in the evening. Most students are attending every day, with several of them having prior high school credits.
English, Math and Elective classes are being offered during the day from 8:10 AM-12:05 PM and in the evening from 5:00-8:00 PM. The way the class schedule is set, when students are unable to attend classes in the morning, they can attend them in the evening and vice versa.
Half of the students are new to the Hugoton Learning Academy this year and have been recruited by word of mouth and the school’s reputation. Ms. Trujillo’s former English as Second Language students have been the school’s best recruiters. They have encouraged their family members and friends to attend her classes.
“I am pleased with the number of students we have attending classes this year. They come almost daily and are excited to have the opportunity to learn English and work toward their high school diplomas,” stated Ms. Trujillo.
