It’s the Thanksgiving holiday, a time of the year when we reflect upon what we are thankful for. In honor of this tradition, the HLA students were encouraged to reflect on what is important in their lives this year. The majority of the students were thankful for their families, friends, good health, jobs, and the opportunity to be here studying and learning another language.
Here are some of the responses received by the students:
I am thankful for…
Miriam – My life and my family being together
Valerie – My boyfriend
John B – My truck
Silvia – The opportunity to meet new people and for the teachers
Margarita – the blessing God has given me
Mireya - what the teachers teach us and for the friendship of my classmates
Peter – Shelter
Brooke- My older sister. She is a wonderful role model and supports me in all that I do
